Apache readies Tomcat Java servlet container upgrade

The Apache Software Foundation for open source projects is readying an upgrade to its Tomcat Java servlet container, with improvements eyed in areas such as scalability and security, Apache personnel said on Wednesday afternoon.

T-Mobile will let its subscribers pay for Android applications on their monthly mobile bills starting Nov. 17, also introducing its own section of the Android Marketplace that day.

The next time someone asks you a question and you know they haven't bothered to do the obvious, to wit, look it up on Google, send them a link to Let Me Google That For You. For example, if someone were to write to me and ask if there's an archive of Gearhead columns, I might reply with "Try this link: ". Voila!

Those hoping for a Beatles on iTunes announcement at Apple's September music themed rock and roll event had to make do with Norah Jones, the antithesis of rock and roll.
